Clampdown on smuggled cellphones

Following the success of cellphone jammers in prisons in cities like Bangalore and Mysore, the Indian state of Karnataka will introduce the technology to all of its prisons in order to prevent inmates from running crime networks from their cells. Read more.

Meanwhile, in the US state of Indiana, authorities want to crack down on the smuggling of cellphones to inmates. Lawmakers have proposed fining smugglers US$10 000. Read more.
