DCS says G4S has “lost effective control” of Mangaung Correctional Centre

The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) has decided to intervene in the running of Mangaung Correctional Centre. The prison has up to now been run by private security company, G4S.

In a media statement, Acting National Commissioner of Correctional Services Nonstikelolo Jolingana, said of the situation, “the contractor has lost effective control of the facility”.
